Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a tutoring session?
Each session is 45-50 minutes.
How do I prepare for my appointment?
Plan to join the Zoom meeting about five minutes early, in case you have technical difficulties. Have all of your materials on hand before your appointment begins. Most importantly, think about a goal for your session -- a concern or concerns that you can make progress on in 45-50 minutes with your tutor; attempt the work first so you know what you need help with.
I'm not familiar with Navigate, Zoom, or Brainfuse. What should I do?
Reynolds Technology Support has resources to introduce you to Navigate and Zoom. You can learn more about Brainfuse here. Additionally, Tutoring Services staff are happy to talk to you about your concerns and needs. Contact us by chat, phone, email, or online form. We're here to help you.
Throughout the semester, Tutoring Services and the Library offer a series of workshops to help you succeed. These include planning for the semester, reading your syllabus, computer basics, study strategies, testing skills, note taking, and so much more. You can see our full calendar of events and register here.
Instructors and faculty can also request workshops on various academic skills for their individual classes by filling out the form located here. These customizable sessions cover research, technical, and study skills.
Brainfuse Online Tutoring
In addition to free peer tutoring services offered at Reynolds, currently enrolled students also have access to Brainfuse, an online tutoring service that covers all major subjects. You can learn more about Brainfuse here.
